Overview
Where natural hydrothermal reservoirs are absent, EGS/HDR tries to create a heat exchanger in the rock. Success depends on drilling, stimulation, and managing induced seismicity.
How it works
Injection and production wells connect through a stimulated volume. Water or another fluid picks up heat and drives a binary cycle at the surface.
